Anyone who says “oh this looks easy, what’s so hard about it?” clearly doesn’t get what’s going on around them and how fucked up the tuning can get. Next to the scherzo, this would be the hardest excerpt I have to do. Little room for nuance, small dynamic range that needs to be emphasized without over doing it, and trying to achieve a dark sound while starting on one of the brightest, sharpest notes on the instrument…

Psh, it’s not that baaaad. You want tough, try Pines of Rome, any beethoven symphony, or Rachmaninoff. But the brahms is not that bad, just know your instrument.
